Otago Rugby is pleased to announce that Tom Donnelly has been appointed to the role of Mitre 10 Cup Assistant Coach for the 2017 competition. 

He has extensive playing experience and in-depth knowledge of the modern game having played 83 games for Otago, 98 Super Rugby games along with 15 test matches for the All Blacks.  He was a pivotal influence in the Otago team that won the Ranfurly Shield in 2013. 

Tom has commenced the transition from playing to coaching while he has been overseas having completed various coaching qualifications and has also commenced a Postgraduate Certificate in Sports Coaching through the University of Canterbury.  Tom will oversee the set piece and will commence in his new role once his commitments with Aviron Bayonnais Rugby Pro in France have finished.
