Super Rugby Aupiki

Congratulations to all the Otago Spirit Players that played in the Aupiki Super Womens Competition. What a great competition that show cased professional women's rugby throughout New Zealand at an elite level. Fierce haka's, slick line outs, mauling machines, individual flair and bone crunching tackles that left spectators on the edge of their seat and cheering you all on throughout the Aupiki competition.

We look forward to the 2023 Competition.

We want to acknowledge the Otago Spirit Girls who played for the first South Island Team - Matatu, Julia Gorinski, Kilisitina Vea and Greer Muir. Along with Maia Joseph for Waitomo Chiefs Manawa and Teilah Ferguson for the Hurricanes Poua

We look forward to seeing you back in the Blue and Gold for the Farah Palmer Cup.

NZ Rugby “Rugby Rewards” Initiative

New Zealand Rugby's 2022 community rugby volunteer recruitment campaign "Reffing Rewards" focusses primarily on referee recruitment but also with a secondary focus on coaches and volunteers.

This campaign aligns with the “Big Little Moments” theme that carries through all NZRs Community Rugby campaigns, and has a goal of getting new referees, coaches, and managers to register for the 2022 season, and encouraging people to ‘put their hand up’ to support their club or school. This ‘Rewards’ campaign celebrates the contribution of referee’s/coaches/volunteers by showing how rewarding it is both for the individual, and for the community.
