It's Semi Finals time for our top 4 Metro Premier Women! Alhambra Union v Otago University at North Ground and Dunedin v Big River Country at Kettle Park, kick off for both games at 12.45pm tomorrow! Be sure to get behind your team to help cheer them on to the Final Dance. Best of luck ladies!

Last week to nominate for June! We are calling for nominations for Otago Community Rugby's Volunteer of the Month for June sponsored by Cobb & Co. Dunedin. Send us a direct message on our Facebook page with a nominee's name, photo and why they should be acknowledged! We will narrow it down to 4 nominees and then the winner will be voted on by the public on our Facebook page and score themselves a meal voucher from Cobb & Co Dunedin. Nominations close 12pm Friday 21st June.

Resurgent Owaka could test Crescent

On Monday the 10th of June we held our last round of the Spirit Sisters Girl's ONLY Tackle Rugby competition.

It was a chilly but awesome final evening where the girls showcased a lot of progress from the first round back in May. We concluded the evening with a wee bbq where the girls mingled over a sausage and a fizzy and headed inside to finish with a small prize giving where all the girls were rewarded with a spirit sisters t'shirt!

Aria will be running the same 5 x Monday night competition in Queenstown for our Otago Country girls in Term 3! More details coming soon!

Great Country footy over the weekend with both @Speight’s Jugs staying in the clubrooms where they started the round.

Last weekend in the Central Region @Wakatipu Rugby Club won through in the tight Battle of the Basin, this weekend they are on the road to @Maniototo RFC at the Maniototo Park Stadium, kick off 2:30pm.

In the Southern Region the Pigs of @West Taieri Rugby travel down the road to the Axemen of @Toko RFC, game kicking off at 3:00pm on the number one ground at the Toko Domain in Milton.

This weekend it is a thank you to the parents, grandparents, siblings and caregivers around our province who get out of bed on a Saturday morning to get their kids to their rugby games. Good on ya Mates.

We have an opportunity for our year 7/8 girls to continue growing their rugby. The year 8 festival is coming up on the 27th of July in Balclutha. Previously this event has been a boys festival where the odd girl would be mixed into the boys team, however this year we have introduced a girls only grade which is open to all year 7/8 girls. This will be an awesome day out for our girls to experience with the Otago Spirit FPC and Otago NPC teams also taking part in the day. Game Development - Female Participation legend Aria, will continue her work in this space and will run two more Monday night training's on 1st July (week before holidays) and 22nd July (week after school holidays) in preparation for the Year 8 festival. Teams will be organised prior to the weekend so reach out to aria.monaghan@orfu.co.nz for more details.

Footwear: Boots recommended (gym shoes are okay) there will be NO BAREFEET ALLOWED sorry.

Draw: Will be confirmed closer to the date.
