Mike and Ezra Blair – Clutha Valley RFC

“I would like to nominate Mike and Ezra Blair, these 2 do a mammoth amount of work for the Clutha Valley Junior and Senior club, Mike is President and Ezra a committee member, Mike coaches juniors and Ezra organises food. Mike is a player for the prems and does the organising of BBQ for trainings, any odd job that needs done. Mike has been the club’s hardest worker for years. Ezra does all the meals for home games, organises the kitchen and does the roster for the Prems. These two put in countless hours for the club and deserve a nice treat for them and their three boys. Clutha Valley are extremely privileged to have a very hard working couple.”

Cherie Ford – Alhambra-Union Junior RFC

“Would love to nominate Cherie Ford of Alhambra-Union Junior Rugby Club. She has worked tirelessly in the background getting our teams registered and sorted, kitted them out in new hoodies and individually initialed all of our 100+ new beanies provided by her husband’s business. She’s an absolute rockstar while being a full time teacher and Mum to two boys of her own! We’d be lost without her.”

Brian Greer – Harbour RFC

“Brian “Greasy” Greer. The heart and soul of the Harbour Rugby Club. Club captain, coach, manager, social welfare officer. Brian dedicates his heart and soul to the club (even ask his wife). Without Brian there would be no club. Spends countless hours each week ensuring we can field a team across all grades plus the logistical nightmare of running a club in the background.”

Carla Paranihi – Cromwell Junior RFC

“She is our Cromwell Junior Rugby club President & always goes above & beyond for everyone. We appreciate all she does for our club & is a true superstar ...no matter what she always gets it done!”

On The Road With Will Henry

This week our Regional Development Coach Will, delivered set piece sessions in the Queenstown area across an array of age groups. Covering both Men’s and Women’s premier, Wakatipu HS boys 1st and 2nd XVs, Wakatipu HS Girls 1XV, U15 boys, U14 boys and Junior Rugby. So awesome to have players show up keen to learn and develop their game!!!

Go Vika!!!

Our girl Vika Piukala is currently training with the Tongan Women’s team! Love to see it!!!

South West Otago Sport Clutha Annual Rippa Rugby Festival

On Thursday the South West Otago Sport Clutha hosted their annual Rippa Rugby Festival. Moxy and Aria were onboard to help support and deliver an awesome day of fun!

South Otago High School got a huge shout out for the amazing 29 students who did an outstanding job refereeing all the games. The day just couldn't happen without that amazing support, and they did a remarkable job.

There were 3 grades (Year 3/4s, Year 5/6s and Year 7/8s) with a total of around 90 teams participating, the support from parents-who give up their own time and commitments-is just invaluable in getting these young children active.

Lots of tired children, but what a fantastic day of Rippa Rugby!

Mental Skills With Liz

On Wednesday night the Men’s and Women’s Academies were delivered a workshop by Liz Murdoch, Otago Academies mental skills coach. The session focused on building belief and understanding of belonging, two critical elements to on field performance. Cheers Liz!
