Good afternoon Otago Rugby supporters. 

Congratulations to the West Taieri Pigs (Southern Region Premier Champions) and the Alexandra Armadillos (Central Region Premier Champions) who both took out the top spot for their respective competitions!!! They will now take each other on in the Country wide Final, taking place tomorrow at Molyneux Park in Alexandra. Kick off is 2.30pm, so get down there to watch some epic rugby and to support your team!!! 

It's Metro Premier Semi Finals this weekend with Kaikorai hosting Dunedin at Bishops Court and Taieri hosting Southern at Peter Johnson Park. Kick off is at 2.45pm tomorrow, so rest the vocal chords tonight and get on down to support your team as they go into battle. Go well men!!!

The FPC season kicks off this weekend and we can't wait to see the women back out on the park. New Head Coach Craig Sneddon has named our first team of the season to take on Tasman Women this Saturday at Trafalgar Park in Nelson. There are plenty of debutants and potential debutants listed, check out the full team below. You can tune in to watch on Sky Sport 2. LET'S GO LADIES!!!!

The 2023 Otago Development Squad were announced this week, filled with exciting up and coming talent. The team will kick off their tournament on the 4th August against Heartland Champions South Canterbury, the first of a 6 game tournament. Scroll down below to check out the whole squad.

Otago Spirit Team Named to Play Tasman Women

Otago Spirit Coach Craig Sneddon has named his team to take on Tasman Women this Saturday 22 July, 7:05pm at Trafalgar Park in Nelson in their first game of the 2023 Farah Palmer Cup presented by Bunnings Warehouse season.


There are debutants and potential debutants listed in this team naming including, Sammie Bean, Bella Rewiri-Wharerau, Hannah Lithgow, Pesalini Lave-Heehau, Maddy Sullivan and Abigail Paton.
Julia Gorinski will lead as Captain.


Once again in 2023, all Farah Palmer Cup games will be broadcast live on Sky Sport and available Free to Air thanks to Bunnings Warehouse and Sky Sport. This game will be broadcast live on Sky Sport 2.

“We are really excited for the 2023 Otago Development programme. This side will be playing 6 games against tough opposition starting on the 4th of August against Heartland Champions South Canterbury at Eastern on Friday night before the All Blacks test at the Stadium. We value the importance of playing hard competitive games for this team in 2023 and look forward to seeing how each player steps up to the plate.” - Moxy Smith Game Development Manager.

Squad will train Tuesday 1st August venue TBC.

2023 Southern Region Premier Champions - West Taieri!!!

The Pigs have done it! What an battle between the two teams in Outram. Final Score: West Taieri 28 - Clutha 23.

Congratulations to the West Taieri club, enjoy your celebrations in the coming days. And well done to the Clutha Steamers on a successful season.

2023 Central Region Premier Champions - Alexandra Armadillos!!!

Congratulations to the Alexandra team and club! What a game against Upper Clutha in Wanaka last Saturday.

Final score: Alexandra 32 - Upper Clutha 24

Alexandra will now face West Taieri (Southern Region Premier Champions) in the Country wide Final tomorrow 2:30pm at Molyneux Park in Alexandra.
